Our fertile duck hatching eggs are sourced from a small, intentionally managed free-range flock, selected for exceptional laying performance above all else. Every duck in our program is chosen for productivity, temperament, and long-term health — not show standards — resulting in reliable, real-world layers well suited for educational hatching and homestead flocks alike.
Our ducks are free-range raised and organically fed, with daily access to pasture, sunlight, fresh air, clean water, and a calm, low-stress environment. This approach supports consistent laying and strong fertility during peak season while prioritizing animal welfare and flock health.
Our flock is predominantly Magpie, thoughtfully complemented by Welsh Harlequin and Silver Appleyard genetics — breeds widely respected for their egg-laying ability, hardiness, and calm disposition.
As a barnyard mix, each hatch is unique, but the foundation of our breeding program remains performance-driven and intentionally selected.
During our primary season, we see an average fertility rate of approximately 70–80%, with natural variation influenced by weather, daylight, and seasonal shifts. We practice transparent, ethical hatchery standards. Fertility is never guaranteed, but our rates reflect a well-managed, actively laying flock.
Peak hatching season: March through early June
Outside of peak season, laying and fertility become increasingly weather-dependent. Ducks may continue laying through winter months, but consistency is not guaranteed.
We strongly recommend inquiring before ordering outside peak season so expectations are aligned.
